Hi, I was wondering what I needed to buy in order to be able to play Japenese games on my Playstation 2?

i think you don't really need to buy anything for your ps2 to play them. i have a couple of japenese car games and i didn't need to buy anything for it

The Playstation 2 action replay disk has a function called the "freeloader" this allows you to play games from other countries. I have the Gamecube version and i love it, playing Japanese games is fun but confusing if you don't read japanese.
