Epsom salts are a good source of manganese, a trace nutrient. I do not know of any definitive research in regards to curing plant diseases.

If you grow roses, place a couple of tablespoons of Epsom salts around the base of the plant after you prune it in late winter or early spring. The stems will grow stronger and the blooms will be more colorful. Just remember, use only in moderation. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing.

Yeah, go with JD ... epsom salts will make plants healthier not cure disease. You have to distinguish between symptoms of mineral deficiency and actual disease.
