I use duct tape to hold the sections of dryer venting together. I also use it when I cut myself after applying superglue to the cut I put a layer of duct tape over it and it holds the cut together and saves a trip to the emergency room for sutures. You can also use it to seal a window air conditioner especially when the side curtains have cracked and broken.

1.Once upon a time I was backpacking and the strong winds were ripping the tie down strings from my tent during the middle of a snowstorm, at night. I had some duct tape with me and used that to reinforce the tie downs where they were sewn to the tent. The tent survived, as did my companion and I, and I am a firm believer in industrial grade duct tape! The funny thing about the tape is I had wrapped some of it around the frame of my backpack to keep the aluminum of the frame from turning my hands black. That tape was wrapped on the pack for a number of years before I used it on the tent.
2. We used to have chickens out in an enclosure and I used plastic to cover them during winter. To hold down cheap plastic I folded duct tape on itself over the edges, poked holes in it and tied with twine. Worked for a winter.
3. Daughter used duct tape on her text books as a book cover (tape on top of paper bag). She wanted silver books.

When I was a model the "dressers" used it to give the braless look by literally duct taping breasts up higher on the chest. It was also used on the soles of model's shoes so that they could go back undamaged. I personally used it on my Pinto in the backseat footwell that had rusted out so that riders felt more secure putting their feet down.

Ah, the handyman's secret weapon. It makes a good seal to keep out water, with a coat of paint. It works well as a nuts and bolts holder when you remove them from a project. It also works great as a hair remover.
