I know how you feel. I had a phone that I dropped accidently in a glass of water. To get another, I would have had to pay full price. No warranty. Was so frustrated. Was able to use an old phone until my time to renew contract was up. You will either have to pay full price or go with another company. Which will still cost you-early disconnect fee. They've got you no matter what.

Look for a different phone elsewhere and then activate it for the $20 the ingrates will charge you anyway. If you've had it under 15 days, take it back. You can also dial *228 for an update.
I'm actually leaving their service. I've had a few issues but then their "trained" techs give me the same "DUH" response. I'm going back to CB radio. Cell phones stink, and the service is worse.
Buying out of a contract IS cheaper in the long run. Why spend at least 39.95 plus tax every month for two years when you can buy out of it for two-hundred bucks; use the telephone for some wicked target practice, bring it back to the shop where you got it from and tell them to ki$$ your a$$. Next go to your local Radio Shack and get a CB radio for $99. No monthly fees and on cloudy days you can talk to people in Arizona; from Montana. Or you could just sit and listen to what others are talking about, especially radar trap reports. It's kind of fun to call ahead and help be part of the trap for that tailgater on your rear bumper too.

Verizon those days replaced their improve dates for all shoppers to the 20 month element, or 4 months earlier the top of contract. Double verify to be particular that that's been replaced because it did not without delay do it for everybody. in case you're interior 30 days of your improve you could purchase a telephone at finished retail and then go back it in the 30 day "worry loose assure" era they have. in case you're more advantageous than 30 days away try to be eligible for an early improve in case your line is a minimum of $40 9.ninety 9 a month. If not then they furnish a lost/stolen/damaged telephone application the position you could purchasee the phone on the a million-year contract value extending your contract a million-year from the present date, pushing your improve back a minimum of 10 months from the present date. The a million-year contract value is $70 extra, yet with the present $one hundred fifty value drop on the voyager that's in common words $269.ninety 9 on a a million-year or $199.ninety 9 with a 2-year and both ought to have a $50 MIR (mail-in rebate). in case you in common words like the Voyager i'd recommend that you look on the hot LG Dare. The contact exhibit is extra responsive, extra effortless to apply. It would not turn open to the finished QWERTY keyboard notwithstanding the contact exhibit has an decision for a T9 or finished QWERTY keyboard. fantastically cool telephone; nicely worth sorting out i imagine.

All of the cell phone companies are like that. I've used Alltell and Cingular. Outrageous cell phone bills and terrible communications with people that work for them. My daughters phone got wet and she went to three Cingular offices on our town and all three told her different stories she had to go to the town where she is in college for someone to actually have the available phones and let her resign so she doesn't have to pay 200.00 for a new phone. But yet now we all need cell phones but our cell phone bills are much higher than our home phone bills ever were. You can drop the service and go to another company but then you have to pay the 200.00 penalty which may be what you want to do since you are not satisfied.

Your only option is to get a new phone or buy out your contract. I have heard that LG phones are bad about dropping calls. You can find some good deals on ebay, look for phones that are UNLOCKED and look at the sellers record. Nokia has great reception. hope this helps

I have been with Verizon for many years with 3 phone. 2 months ago they sent me a coupon for a Razor phone for 150.00. With a 50.00 rebate if I would sign up for 2 more years. I did. Filled out all rebate things and sent it in. No rebate came ( they claim I did not sent code off the box ). I told her it was funny I have a box with the code cut off. I taped it to the coupon. Sorry and hung up. 2 weeks later they send out a coupon and advertise everyplace for a FREE Razor phone with a 2 year agreement. That is the BIG THANK YOU I got from Verizon for being a good customer for many years.

We have had Verizon for about 4 years, have never had a problem. We have the family plan.
How old is your phone? Maybe the battery needs replacing.
Contact the Verizon main office and explain your situation.

Tell them you are going to leave their service. They will put you through to the retention team and they'll offer you some type of deal.
Remember, tell them another phone company will give you a new phone for free so why should you pay them for it.
You'll probably end up getting the phone free of charge.

You can drop them, but they will charge you for it. I don't think it is right that cell phone companies can make you even have a contract

Write a letter to the president. Explain the problems you have been having- someone will probably write you back, and maybe will offer you something, like a discount or credit. It actually works more often than not!
