they will be IMPROVED no doubt however the division is the toughest in the nfl..they would have to dominate the bucks, panthers, and falcons..thats before the nfc east teams to boot..if they go 8 and 8 or 9 and 7, that is more realistic. that will not be enough to win the division..they addressed the offense, yes..but their d is not as strong as those other teams..they will be a good team, not a great team..1 player does not a team make..ask mr vick...be a fan..not a fanatic..

Best team in the NFC South?....Ummm...probably 2nd....They have to top Carolina. Sure whatever Reggie Bush/Deuce McAllister, Joe Horn, and Drew Brees on offense...that's very similar to DeAngelo Williams/DeShaun Foster, Steve Smith, and Jake Delhomme on offense...the difference is that we already know Carolina has a great defense....the Saints might need some time in that category if they want to be 1st in that division...but who knows...the Colts did it...I hope for my Panther's sake that the Saints still have a crappy defense.
I would be comfortable putting my money on #1-2 being Carolina and New Orleans in the division...but we'll see what order they are when the season starts....Atlanta probably will be last...they suck...and Tampa...another coin flip.

Jim Hasslett did an excellent job as Saints head coach, given the political dynamics presented by Saints owner Tom Benson, Hasslett's coaching staff and the players themselves. Hasslett did all he as head coach could do--and I DON'T agree with Benson's decision to let him go.
.Any SuperBowl team owner, coach and especially their team players will all tell quick that talent and football victories carry high price tags. Pay out less and the team will not go far: it's just that simple.
Benson stubbornly, for years I might add, really believes he can pay less and have his team push on for a shot to play in and win a SuperBowl!!! He runs the Saints like he runs his businesses--it's "old school" business logic that outright doesn't nor will it ever work!!!! Hence, you see why Benson is truly the Saints biggest problem.
If Benson can just sit back, pay the $$$ needed and let his new coach and rebuilt Saints team do their jobs--we'll see an improved Saints team that will inspire the world this year and they just might make it and play / win that elusive SuperBowl.

...moving to LA next year? Think about it. They pick up Brees and draft Bush. They've sold only 2 luxury boxes at the Uberdome so far. The corporations have other things on their mind in NO after Hurricane Katrina. NO seems sadly doomed and will be moved.
Then I can see NO getting an expansion team a la the Browns Version 2.0 once things return to normal in the Big Easy.

They are not going to be that good because they lack defense so what Drew Brees is going to play conerback and Reggie Bush is going to play linebacker. Come people defense wins champsion. A great offense won't beat a great defense. What player from the Saints is going to stop Steve Smith and Michael Vick. Also Carolina and the Bucs have great defense. So there is no way that they are going to be that good yet.

I agree with you now that the Saints have Reggie Bush they are going to accomplish many things. I hope they will soon win a SuperBowl so my baby Reggie can have a ring and good bragging rights.

They've made some great moves acquiring Reggie Bush and Drew Brees, but we'll have to see if they have a legitimate NFL head coach. It's hard to tell with a rookie head coach.

I could see that in a cpl of yrs, not this yr though. If Brees gets over his shoulder injury and bush does half what we know he cam WOW look out.
Damn shame Horn is getting on in yrs.

they will be decent.
reggie bush. wont be playing against a slow, college level defense. so his production might be limited.
they filled the QB spot nicely. which will give joe horn and stallworth some big time yardage. they do need to improve the OL.
