- A man who made a child, was expected to raise and provide for the child. Now, a man can sleep with a woman, and she can abort the child.

- A man once laboured out the home while the woman, equally, laboured in the home. Now, women are expected to do both.

- A woman's body was sacred. Seen as a gateway for GOD to enter life into this world. Now, a woman's body is simply for sexual satisfaction.

Who did feminism liberate, men or women?

Excellent point. This is something I've argued about with other women for years. I remember when I was 15 & at my 1st job bagging groceries and collecting carts from the parking lot. One night, during a cold and snowy night, I was working hard at those carts & an elderly woman came up to me & said "We screwed it all up for ourselves with that Women's Rights crap. This is no work for a young lady like yourself."

IMO~ Feminism doubled our workload and responsibilities, which is adversely affecting our children.

Feminism didn't liberate anyone. It enslaved them.
We went backward because it. A woman was able to raise children properly. Now she is expected to commit adultery and then murder the child because the baby didn't fit their lifestyle. Then say it was her body not yours. I think some women should reexamine their physical bodies. They might rediscover something that was taught in high school.
Our culture expects women to work and raise children to gain respect. It didn't start this way so now we have children who rebel against their parents because the children don't have their parents to teach them what they needed to learn. Instead they get their education from mindless TV and people who don't care about them.
Our culture went from being a sacred God fearing society to an abomination of drugs and sex and people thinking that you can abuse anyone and get away with it.
So who did feminism liberate? Absolutely no one. Women who wanted careers now find themselves wanting a family only to discover life passed them by because they listen to the wrong voices in our modern culture. Feminism HURT everyone and they think it is ok. They actually think they are better than everyone and if you try and tell them to change their mind you are considered a bigot and a liar. So I say prove me wrong.

KennethS, yes, of course it's the womens' fault for having illegitimate children, not the men who lie about fidelity and marriage... but threaten to leave if they don't get sex.

Yes, the women are always at fault. They should go back to the kitchen and wait for their cheating husbands to come home at 11 p.m., expect supper on the table, scream when the potatoes touch the peas, and beat the family because their mistress is out of town the next 3 days... Damn women!!.

their are a lot of loose women out there. more than the old days. it has destroyed the family. some women have children from five different husbands. the men don't support. the kids grow up bad and then into society as adults. its really bad stuff.

tis true women. Women couldn't own anything at one time. They certainly couldn't get a loan. And made less than HALF the income as a man in the same position. all of this has BAREly changed....but it's going in the right direction.
HOWEVER - I totally see your point. And kudos to you for bringing it to light.

What an excellent question. There is no doubt in my mind that although a lot of good came from the woman's lib movement, a lot of bad came from it also.

I think it benefitted men. Now women just have to accept all sexist crap that comes their way because "the movement" has gone underground. We "have rights" so we should shut up and not work on the many problems that are still plaguing us (sexual abuse, domestic violence, etc...)

I don't personally think it liberated anyone. I think it's just created a lot of confusion and created doubt in men's minds over the best part of their manhood and in women's over the best part of their womanhood.
