"Coming of Age in Mississippi" by Anne Moody - Best memoir ever
"Peoples' History of the United States" by Howard Zinn - as Matt Damon's character in Good Will Hunting said: "It will blow your mind." This you won't finish in a day.
"Ulysses" by James Joyce - They say it's the best novel ever. This you won't finish in a day, or even a month.
That evil Ann Coulter sure writes entertaining books. Those you'll finish in an hour.

My sister does not read very much but she has recently found an interest in Nicholas Sparks books. He wrote 'The Notebook' and other books that go along as a sequence to it. Also you could try to read the Lemony Snicket series. There is about 15 books and counting. They are short and would probably only take and hour to read each one. May I also suggest the 'Chronicles of Narnia' There was a movie made recently based on one of the books. My cousin loves them and said that there 7 books I think. Hope any of this helps.

Here is one I can just about guarantee you cannot finish in a day, if indeed you can finish it at all. It is a Medieval volume, a classic titled "Hypnerotomachia Polifili" and was the subject of the book "The Rule of Four". It is a search for a lost love and takes place in a dream, and encompases a dream within the dream, has fantastic visions of surrealistic architecture and has been called the most boring book ever written.
When I want to go to sleep quickly I open this book and within one or two sentences find myself immensely drowsy...

You should try : THE TIME CAPSULE by LURLENE Mc Daniel.
I've bought it at a book fair and I read the back. I haven't read the whole book yet but by the back of it, the book seems really interesting!

I just got done reading "Tabloid Love". It's about a girl who tries to find love in NYC. If you like mystery, try Erica Spindler. She's wonderful!
