Maybe you meant that the tiles are 8 inches on a side. Thus the area of each tile is 64 square inches.
The area of the room is 24 square feet. Since a square foot = 144 square inches, the area of the room is 144x24 = 3456 square inches.
3456/64 = 54, so it will take 54 tiles to tile the room.

Hi:
If the tiles are that big. Than one title will do you ( you may have to cut it; to fit it in) but if they are 8 inch by 8 inch than 54 of them will do you fine.
Because 4 X 12 = 48 inch and 6 X 12 = 72 inches
48 X 72 = 3456 square inches
8 X 8 = 64 square inches per title
3456 / 64 = 54 titles
and there your answer.
I hope this help you

8 in X 8 in = 2/3ft X 2/3 ft
6 times 2/3 =12/3=4 ft
9 times 2/3=18/3=6 ft
So... 6 tiles by 9 tiles, or 54 tiles

first of all, is it tiles or titles? second, if its 8 X 8 then no tile will fit. if the question is 8" by 8" then the answer is 54 tiles will cover the room. good luck with the problem.

The tile is bigger than the room!!! 64sq Ft versus 24sq Ft. Comes out to be something close to 3/8 of the tile.

One such hugh tile is enough. You have to cut it.
Could it be, that the tiles are 8 inch x 8 inch?
Then the number is
{(4 x12) inch x( 6 x 12)inch} / (8 inch x 8 inch) = 54

i think tile size should read 8" ( 8 inches) not 8'(8 ft).
size (area) of the room equals 48"(4x12) x 72"= 3456 sq. inch.
thus a room of 3456" requires, 3456/(8 x 8)=54 tiles.

Maybe you typed the question wrong? The tiles are larger than the room the way you have it, so... 1.
