Yep - from when I was a kid. And he had a sidekick named Jeff - "Burger Chef and Jeff". They were one of the first to introduce a kid's meal, before McDonald's "Happy Meal".
There's a Wikipedia article on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burger_Chef
including the logo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7c/1973burgerchef_logo.png
They closed in 1996, or rather changed their name to "Pleasers" (?) (now I've never heard of that place), some were converted to "Carl Jr's" and others to "Hardees".

Yes! With the giant Burger Chef statue out front. He was a chef, dressed in white, with a little mustache, holding a hamburger.
We used to go to one in Rockford, Illinois and they had great hamburgers. They were flame broiled - before Burger King came along.
Thanx for bringing back a great memory.

My Mom worked for the Burger Chef in Canton, Ohio part-time for about 10 years once us kids got in high school, then stayed with it after it became a Hardee's for about another decade. She LOVED it. Then the place got bought by Carl's Jr. and went out of business in six months.

certain, I undergo in ideas Lum's, they'd warm canines boiled in Beer. unique huh? i don't know what got here about to them. I also miss Burger Chef. No, Burger Chef did not go into financial disaster enterprise, they were absorbed and then dismantled with the help of Hardee's, because they were this style of fulfillment. position I miss, (In Lima Ohio), replaced into "The red Barn" They were like McDonald's, or Burger Chef, except their stacker replaced into the, "vast Barney". per chance red Barn replaced into only a community joint, yet I nevertheless miss it.

Yes. I grew up in Rhode Island, and there was one near my house that had an awesome burger bar. You could purchase a plain burger and then fix it anyway you want. I miss that.
