I lost my virginity a few months ago, and lately I have noticed my vagina smells different. Not neccesarily bad, just different from how it used to smell. I can't really think of something to compare the smell to either. It smells a little bit like baby wipes I guess.
Is having sex what caused this?
I shower at least once a day, I know that isn't the case and yes of course I know to wash myself.
I also don't want to try doucing, because I know that isn't very healthy or sanitary.

Well, an infection is possible, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're experiencing. Sex could cause different smells immediately afterwards because of your vagina's natural lubricants plus the semen or pre-ejaculate that might have come in contact with your genitals. A few months later, the only reason I would say sex could cause a different odor is if you happened to get an infection, which could happen whether you have good hygeine or not.

have you seen a doctor?? odor can be a sign of an infection, not necessarily an std, it could be a yeast infection or something like it. You are right not to douch...not good for you...but if you ever do only use vinegar and water....

If your period has been stronger that could also cause odor but then you need to just wash better.

The perfect way to wash your vaginal and rectal areas is as follows
2 wash cloths, one for the front and one for the back
wash from clitoral area to the butthole but don't touch
wash, rinse, wash rinse, rinse again...you're done
then butthole back....wash,rinse...as many times as needed
same with wiping on the toilet....wipe front to back....
Good Luck,,,,call the doctor if smell gets worse or itches.....

When you lose your virginity you start to change into women hood and that is the reason for the different smell. however if you start to have any kind of discharge you should seek the advice of a Doctor.

Could it be the body wash that you are using? It may react with the chemical balance in your vagina.

Since you are now sexually active, you should make an appointment with the gynecologist, they will be the best person to answer your question.

Good luck to you.

Clean baby wipes, I hope. It's probably the smell of the soap you are using. Have you changed brands recently?

Unless it turns into a bad smell I would not worry about it.

It may be a psychological thing...you feel different and perceive your body as different.

If you are concerned, go have a check up and make sure you don't have an infection.
