I have a tiger barb in the tank with my beta. They have been together for over a month, then today ove half back fin on the beta is gone. Will it grow back or will he die? I moved him to another tank by himself.

It was a good idea to move the Beta to another tank. Both the Beta and the Tiger Barb are aggressive fish. Barbs will nip at the fins of other fish which could lead to ick and fin rot. Betas are perfectly happy to be alone. As a matter of fact the only time two betas (male and female) are together is during breeding. The male takes care of the babies and the female goes about her way after she lays her eggs. That's why you'll see the male Betas building bubble nests at the top of the water of their bowl, this nest is for a fertile female.
I hope i have increased your knowledge on Betas, Barbs never my favorite because they are so aggressive.

Good decision. Don't put a tiger barb with other fish. If you want to have tiger barb with other fish, you have to put 4 or more tiger barb together, so they can play and stop annoying other fish.

The Betta would be fine, the fin would grow back in a few weeks.

YES, they will grow back, but I would keep your betta on his own from now on.

Buy some melafix (or bettafix, it's the same stuff, just name brand), follow the directions on the package, and add that to the water. It helps speed up regrowth of ripped/damaged fins.

Don't worry, he's not going to die because of this unless he can't swim to get food. In that case, until his fins are long enough, scoop him into a shallow cup for feeding time and put him back in his tank after he eats. It will take a little extra care, but isn't he worth it?

No,I don't think so.The betta and the tiger barb are both agressive fish, they might have been biting each other.Bettas are best to be put alone. Also, yes the betta'sfins will grow back.Mine's always do.
