I think the best anti-virus is caution... don't go around opening weird e-mails from people you don't know, don't add strange people to your IM, don't accept files from people you don't trust, don't open files with extensions you don't know what they are for... etc.
For everything else I use Symantec SystemWorks - Norton Anti Virus. It's not just the anti-virus, it helps you keep your computer at the top of its game. Has a lot of features I'd recommend it.
I've never caught a malicius virus. Sometimes it detects "threaths". But nothing has ever damaged my computer to "crash point".

My personal opinion is Norton Antivirus for a few reasons. First of all, most antivirus programs work the same. They all scan certain sectors of files for viruses. But Norton is very easy to use, and it doesn't take up alot of RAM. Its rival is McAfee. I dont want to be against Mcafee, but it takes up alot of RAM and constantly interrupts me with updates and other stuff. I have had the best experience with Norton. They both work very good against viruses.
Hope that answers your question.

Hi, you can try firefox browser.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.
it can block any annoying popup ads. it can prevent most of the virus in the webpage, as you know, most of the virus is spread through internet.
Download firefox for free:

I have used AVG for years with no problems. The program is onguard on the internet-your e-mail and it has a firewall as well. It updates itself whenever it finds new definitions. Trust me-it's great. Also, the home version is free!!!

Check out the following reviews and decide for yourself. Every anti program out there works for some and not for others. It would be best if you go thru as many reviews as u possibly can and then pick one out for yourself.

I like Norton. I had McAffee for 4 years before Norton and didn't like it. I think Norton is much better.
