i mean we have good style most of us are smart but the guys get called players and girls slu ts whats up with that? most people say we are stuck up conceited rich people who think we are better than every one else . why are there so many haters?

acutally i love preps <3
because i am one.
and i think people dont like us because we are steriotyped
as being conceited
rich
stuck up
and smart.
but honestly im almost the opposite of that
im not conceited...but i do like to make sure i dont look bad
okay...so im rich. who cares.
im not stuck up. im a bit of a dork if you ask me.
and im not the smartest person
people like me the way i am...
but then again everyone at my school is a prep.

In that question you labeled yourself as intelligent, good style, and a player.... then you ask why people think you are conceited, lol. Then you accuse others of being 'haters' when they don't agree with what you said. Everything your talking about is in the question you asked. Above all though, preps dress like old white men who golf, so expect it.

not haters just realistic..... Most preps are stuck up b/c they are spoiled. It is just a sterotype. Who cares what other people think..... Let me ask you this, do you throw a tantrum when something doesn't go your way (daddy won't let you buy something, the waitress gets your order wrong, a friend looks better than you, someone else gets more attention than you) If you answered this honestly and said yes, then its common sense why people don't like you.

I went to a prep school many years ago, and all that you say will change instantly when you finish college and get a good job. All kinds of dumb things happen in high school while people are trying to figure out where they fit in.
Normally, you will have lasting friendships with some of your high school friends or at least with college friends. Those friends can be very helpful when you get out in the professional world.

Because you act like your better than everyone else and you people called "preps" are usually not very kind to people who you don't find "cool" for whatever stupid reason. I think that there should be no such thing as a "prep" in the first place its dumb. Everyone should be viewed as an individual and everyone should be there self. There should be no lables in school such as goth,prep or emo. Everyone should be taken as a serious individual because when you get into the real world there won't be any lables you got to be yourself and be kind to everyone :)

It is Ralph Lauren (nee Ralph Lipshitz from the Bronx) packaging faux English crap. Headbands are evil.
Watch pretty in pink. See? Preps are shallow and dull. They need a label to know if anythings "good" (ie Ralph Lauren) I am referencing an 80's movie because "prep style" is such an 80's thing.
Move on - form your own identity.

You're SO insecure. It's false that everyone hates preppies. I have met many people who attended boarding schools, and they have all been very genuine and nice people. And I DID expect them to be snobby, but not so...very down-to-earth.
I like preps, and I love the preppy look, and I wish that all Americans would dress preppy. Brooks Brothers and J. Crew rocks.
Also, snobbery has EVERYTHING to do with being insecure about your position in society. My preppy friends are confident, caring people. This woman thinks that preps are sexy.

I don't hate preps and I certainly am not a prep you do dress well but some preps are stuck up and make fun of the rest of us here with brains and money just different fashion sense

i like more down-to-earth kind of people. I have a lot of rich friends but their not conceited or whatever. You won't even know their rich just by looking at them. They have good style but they don't show off their assets, if you know what i mean.

I don't like preps because they ARE stuck up. If I even try to talk to one they look at me like I'm crazy. The ones that do talk to me pick on me. So, there goes your whole theory. Try living in someone else's shoes for once.
