i have windows xp home edition with RAM 512 and processor
intel 1.7GHZ. pc runs well but when i open large programmes like bitcommet and adobe photoshop elements and and other programmes at a time , it seems computer got frozen and it takes times to respond, i configured virtual memory like in D rive 1000 mb and maximum 3000 mb and i left c drive none, no virtual memory on c drive and in download couple of movie using bit commet so do u think i should change virtual memory if give me value and what else i can do?

You go to Start Menu.
Control Panel.
System.
And then click on the Advanced Tab.
Under Performance there is a settings tab.

You can increase your virtual memory there, but I wouldnt touch it because it usually allocates it the best way possible so that your computer and your graphics card gets the most from your memory.

Nowadays, you will need at least 1 gig if you plan to use your computer to load up big programs that might take up a lot of memory.

go to download.com
then download adadware
then spybot search and destroy
counterspy
and mcafee antivirus
run scans with all of them

You simply need to buy MORE RAM, man. Max it out!
