Submit your resume to every law firm in your area. Be ready to take any position to get your foot in the door. While waiting for hits on your resume, have lunch in the eateries near the big firms; network, man, network! Good luck.

With a paralegal degree, you would be able to work at a law firm. And while they would prefer experience, it's isn't an absolute must. Where I teach, I suggest to my paralegal students that they do an internship prior to graduation in order to get that all important experience. And while paying internships would be the ideal, unpaid ones still give you the practical experience of working on the job.

As for your wanting to be and attorney, you'll need to go to law school to do that. And be sure to pick a good law school because reputation does matter in the legal field. Lastly, in order to actually practice law, you'll need to pass the bar exam for your state and possibly others if you intend to take clients from out of state.

Law school would be a good place to start. While attending school you could work as a legal librarian with your paralegal degree. Just a suggestion.

A bachelor's degree would be a good start.
Study for the LSAT full stop.
Do something unique like join the peace corps or go on an expedition to Antarctica. Law school admissions is pretty competitive so you need to stand out.

Register with the LSAC at:
http://www.lsac.org

You must take the LSAT and score decently to get in. Also, begin SENDING applications out as soon as possible (no later than Nov. 15th). Applications to law schools are accepted on a rolling basis: first come, first serve. Apply to NO LESS than 10 schools. Also, make CERTAIN you take the LSAT in October, NOT December. If you take it too late, it WILL lessen your chances of admission to law school. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me. I will be glad to help you. I am a law student.

Are you asking how to become a lawyer?

You go to law school, take the bar, possibly intern or clerk somewhere, and then be a lawyer. : )
