I have a green ipod mini and i want to return it so i can get my money back and then put extra money in it so i can get a ipod video.

You probably can't. If theres a warranty on it and there's something wrong with it that's not something you could have caused they would replace it. I think you're out of luck on that one.
Instead, get an ebay account and sell it on there. They sell pretty well on there.

if you have your receipt and have original packaging and assuming you haven't had it too long, maybe the store will take it. or ebay.
