Why u gotta say rap music? Why can't u just say music wit inappropiate lyrics and stuff. Rap is not the only music that should be censored. No type of music should be censored just the songs wit bad contents, which goes to any genre of music.

Well, censorship is generally not on my pro list. However, I was watching 16 Blocks the other day. There is a rap song in there that would NEVER get on the air. Every other word is MF. I felt uncomfortable. I am a cursing SOB myself, but it was TOO much! I felt drenched in it. It was like I was being forced to tolerate it. That is when rap should be censored. When it is foul for the sake of being foul. No message. No beat, no good singer. Just filthy and embarrassing. If your rap can't be heard on the radio because they'd cut out 95% of the song, you aren't rapping, your cursing to music. Now, with that said, they recently played "Hey Ya" on the radio and bleeped a word I didn't think was offensive, nor was it a large part of the song. It was in passing.... just a word in a line. The break in the song was more disruptive than the word. Which is why censorship is a double-edge sword that needs to be wielded judiciously.

Disagree.
WHO will be the judge of what's censored? Mr. and Mrs. "White bread"?
I have a big problem with the government telling people what to do & not do. In history, that's always taken too far. Eventually, everyone is being censored for everything.
Instead, a person should be able to experience anything.

I am personally against censorship. I think It an artist right to say what they want to say. It would ruin the whole purpose of making music and also We have freedom of speech and I think censorship would go against the constitution. If parents have a problem with The words then they should not let there kids listen to it. It's not the artist responsibility to say wrong from right, to teach them that some of these lyrics are wrong and and some people are against saying them.

If you censor rap, then all music should be censored. It would be a never ending cycle of one person becoming offended by one piece of music or someone else becoming offended by another. Where would it end?

I think rap music should be banned from the U.S.A. It's gross and disgusting. Who wants to watch a bunch of black guys hold their private parts while speaking ghetto language and every other word is mother f-----?
DON'T even think of calling me a racist. The majority of rappers are black and hold their private parts while talking like idiots. I think this whole movement was started to get negative attention.
It was one of those, "I'll show you, M.F." ideas. Doesn't take many brains. WHAT is funny about all the rapper junk is when people like Kevin Federline try and act black. I'd like to take his backward ball cap and beat his private parts with the cap.........
TO: "datflawdagurl" You are saying all songs with bad contents should be censored. I agree with you. BUT, I have never heard such language anywhere like rap music. Please post and let us all know what this music is.

I don't think any music, or any other art form should be censored for any possible reason. In my opinion, if something offends anybody, that person(s) can simply chose to not listen or see the art expression that offends him/her/them. I think it is amazingly silly that in our day and age people can be so, sooooo immature to not realize that their standards of decency in no way can be universally adopted by every single one of the 6.5 billion people that inhabit this planet. In my opinion, if you like it, listen to it, see it, enjoy it, and if you don't, let those who do enjoy it do so. For all wanting censorship, my advise is ...Grow up!
