I think they are generalizations, but the matches you made as a suggestion have something interesting to look at. I can't say it is all true, but it is also not BS, either. Obviously, people of all kinds listen to all of these types of music. Lots of white people listen to rap/R&B, and gay people and women listen to lots of different things, too! Majorities of certain cultures do seem to like a lot of the same music.

it's all dumb that people would say that. Not all rappers are mexicans, not all pop are gays and women. heavy metal is ppl hating god, rock isnt' all white people even though there are more people in rock doesn't mean there isn't any black people singing it, and not all couintry are southerners.... i even heard that punk is emo. it is not. people are wrong when they say that kind of stuff. those ppl just don't listen to that kind of music and think that kind of things. which is wrong. they just don't take enough pride in the kinds of musi there is in the world. all music sounds different from band to band

Rap- It is mostly by blacks. However the audience is equally white and black.

Pop - Seems to be mostly by teen girls and young women. The audience is universal; male & female, white & black, young & old.

Heavy Metal - There is Christian metal (White Cross, Stryper, Shout, Magdallan, Guardian, Holy Soldier, etc.). But for the most part, this genre does have very un Christian themes (as does most rap)

Rock - This is mostly performed by whites for whites.

Country - This is probably a dominant music style in the south but it is big everywhere.

I'll add my own
Blues. This was originally performed by blacks for blacks. Now it seems to be predominantly performed by whites for whites.

Rhythm & Blues - This was originally by blacks for blacks. It is still predominately performed by blacks but the audience is probably equally white & black, male & female, young & older.

I dont see color or ethnic qualityies when I listen to music.
The stereotype is that we have to focus on people. Music was around long before photographs, papers, internet, etc...if you take the music as it is for the quality of it..then you will be impressed.

you're not gonna like this but u'r not just stereotyping u'r somewhat showing ignorance in things u may not have tried to understand and probably never will. i don't like most of the genre's but there is diversity in all of them. u must like rock and country because that seems like the only genres u didn't insult.
