We have some money but she is right about being adament about keeping every penny for a vehicle purchase in August. If I dared spend a dime of it the result would be much worse than if I didn't get her anything. Don't get me wrong, she is very cool about things, but sometimes I just think we should be able to take a little money out to recognize certain milestones. Anyway, do you have any suggestions?

Time is the greatest gift. My anniversary (3rd) is tomorrow also, but my husband passed away 5 months ago.
Just be together. Doesn't cost a thing.
When you get your vehicle in August, you can have fun and spend your money filling the gas tank!

do you sing? can you draw? write a silly (and yes, even stupid) little poem on a piece of nice paper just telling her how much you love being married-together. tape it to a sheet of newspaper. Cause your anniversary is news worthy - get my point. Sweet little things, like wild flowers, offer to cook the dinner and clean it up. Even if it is scrambled eggs, women like the little thoughtful things, not the big stuff, unless you have the $$$ for a bling of hugh proportions (YEAH BABY!)). it is obvious that you have a financial understanding just make it up at a later time when she least expects it. SURPRISE! - just because you are wonderful. Send her a free e-mail anniversary card if you don't have paper. 9 years is great but it isn't a 10 or 25. keep up the good work. keeping any relationship for any period of time is next to impossible. the 2 of you do have something special for it to last this long. congrats!

Cook for her. Write a poem. Or, you might want to get on the internet or get some old magazines (but don't cut up her magazines LOL) and make a scrap book of your relationship from the day you met until now. For example, if you meet at a beach, a picture of two folks at the beach (or better yet a scrap book with pictures that you might have of the two of you).
She is right, you don't have to spend money, it really is the thought that counts.

Write her a love letter and place it on her pillow. She will find it. You could also make dinner and eat to candlelite. Draw her a bubble bath, and place alot of candles in there. if you have the software for your pc you can make a wonderful slide show of pictures of your 9 years together. There are many small things you can do that don't cost a dime. Be creative. Woman love that stuff. I know I would.

Buy her a book by her favorite author and write love notes to her on a small pieces of paper and hide them within the pages. Tell her about all of the things you love about her. This works best if it's a romantic story. If you are religious pray with her and tell god how thankful you are that he sent her into your life and if you truely do love her, think of how lost you would be without her. I do know this. It seems that the simple most heartfelt things are the best loved by women. I hope you have many more happy years witheach other.

KISS-Keep it simple. The best anniversary present is my card especially when it simply says I love you. The best advice that would follow the card I can't say it because I don't want to sound lewd but you can buy a toy car replica and little ribbon (or buy her nine cars for each year :)
Save the rest of the $ for the big 10!

I truly understand about the need to save money but If i were you I would do everything she loves on your anniversary and I do mean EVERYTHING massages, her favorite food, rent her favorite movie, keep the kids out of her hair, you clean the house, clean her car, play her favorite music, any errand that she has to run you do it, have her favorite wine or cocktail treat her like the princess she truly is and dont forget the relaxing bubble bath with rose petals and candles.

you are right their is a time you should spend a little something since it is nine year. that great. go and buy flowers at the store.it don't cost much. if you have kids send them on their way to a friends house for the night. make a special dinner and have a bottle of cheap wine or champagne. do a bubble bath together, have fun. if can't get wine or champagne. get a nice card for her. after all NINE YEARS!!!!! GET IT ON ALL NIGHT!!!!!

decorate the bedroom up all nice and cool lookin with red and pink stuff
another great thing is to have a desert tasting outside under the moon and stars, at walmart they have samply tray for 3 to 5 bucks, a blanket and thats all!!

Make her a nice dinner...then a movie...! Do something that you know she will like but can do at home and will hold a special place in her heart! I know pretty much all the girls I know like when the man cooks for them as it so far in between at times...no offence...Breakfast Dinner Supper...whatever!!! As long as it comes from ur heart she will not care, Good Luck
