When I shave "down there" whether with or without shaving cream, I can only shave once a week or less because if I do it more I always get horrible irritation on my "area" and lots of bumps on my bikini line, and I also have a 5-o'clock shadow on my bikini line no matter if I just shaved or not. No hair removal cream works (not even on my legs!), so that's not an option.... anyone know what I can do so I will be able to shave more than once a week??

go to www.wonderful.myarbonne.com and check out the NutriMenC shaving gel in the online section. It is really a lotion and since my husband has been using it on his face....a different area than you are talking about...however he no longer has the bumps he use to get on his neck and his shave lasts a lot longer. I used it on my legs and I have never had a better shave and my skin was super soft. I am 51 y/o so I have tried a lot of products and this is the best I have ever come across.

If you soak in hot water first it will loosen up the follicles and instead of shaving cream, try using Aveeno 24 hour moisture Baby Lotion. Make sure it's the unscented kind. I used to get really bad bumps when i shaved my bikini line and my legs and this did the trick. Just make sure you give your skin time to heal before shaving again.... nothing's worse than shaving over the bumps!! Good Luck! I feel your pain:)

Maybe it's your razor. Are you using an old blade or a cheap disposable? If so, maybe you ought to invest in a good razor. I use the Venus and it works well...no bumps down below. Maybe your skin is just super sensitive there. After you shave maybe try applying an aloe vera gel or some powder. That may help. Otherwise you could wax or have laser removal.

I know exactly what you are talking about!!!

I just researched laser hair removal. I am saving money for it now. It works best on dark hair and light skin, it's permanent and usually painless... but it's a little costly.

You need about 5 sessions at around $80.00 per session.

You just shave the area to be treated and the doctor or nurse (only RNs) will apply the laser to kill the follicle under the skin.

Do some research on it. ;) Good luck.

There are some creams (like lotions) that take care of the bumps. There is even shaving cream that help to prevent them. You could also wax. It depends, but if the hair keeps coming back I'd talk to your doctor about it.

Have you considered waxing? It sounds like you may have very "strong" hair. I also use a product made for black men (who also have strong hair) called magic shave. It will not dye the area to eliminate the shadow, but it has worked wonders for clearing hair from just about everywhere I've used it.

I have the same problem down there, nothing ever worked for me I'm also resistent to hair removal creams, and even when I wax I still get bumps when it starts growing back, so I just gave up, don't know what to tell you.

I have the same problem. I shave there last because the hair is thicker there. I also shave the same direction my hair is growing, and when Im done I use aloe vera gel down there instead of a lotion. hope it helped.

Try using hair conditioner instead of shaving cream. Then after you are finished, be sure to rinse well, and then use a moisturizer or lotion. Hope this helps.
