Start by calling your local police.

Then send in a tip to America's Most Wanted. WWW.amw.com

Do it now! Thanks to you, another dangerous predator could be off the street real soon.

Don't erase the log for starters. Fantasies, no matter how inappropriate they may appear to you, are not against the law. If I had been you, I'd have kept him/her talking for a very long time before going public. Then I would have copied the entire log and delivered to the police.

Hmm, I suppose you take it to the police. But keep in mind being a pedophile is not a crime. Having sex with a minor is.

Of course, they might consider that solicitation of a minor to a degree which is a felony in most states.

i'd call the cops or the fbi or something. the guy that said being a pedophile isn't a crime, having sex with minors is was only partly right. the pedophile doesn't have to have sex, in many states its a felony just to solicit sex from a minor-not even have sex

You could try contacting Yahoo - they might be able to trace the person's user ID.
