I was adopted by a gay couple at the age of twelve and I only inquired about the possibility of marriage once.
My father Ron's response was "What the hell for?"
I agree, what the hell for? They were together for 25 years before Ron died of a heart-attack and marriage wouldn't have changed a damned thing.

Yes, they should be allowed to. But gays should only be allowed to marry because straights are.

Personally, I think there should be a ban against all marriage- keep it in churches and casinos where it belongs. Marriage is just a trivial ceremony which serves no practical purpose.

I fail to understand why anyone is against the concept of gay marriage, especially considering the overwhelming success of straight marriages.
The divorce rate is astronomical and this is something considered "sacred"? It's a joke! It's a ridiculous waste of time and should be laughed at, not protected. How could anyone, even a religious fanatic, seriously defend something and give it "sanctity" when it can be ordered at a drive-through in Vegas like a ******* Big Mack?
You don't need to be married to be in love and I find that the entire concept of marriage is nothing but a mundane triviality.
I don't think straight people should get married but as long as they are, homosexuals should be granted the same rights. We're not allowed to make laws concerning race, creed, etc. but we're considering making laws based upon the activities in another persons PANTS? It's ******* stupid!!!
Even religious objections to the issue are questionable. As far as morality is concerned it shouldn't be morally acceptable for straight people to get married, divorced and sue for joint custody of children. It doesn't seem to me that many people are putting their children's happiness above their own.
Even when children aren't involved the whole thing is ridiculous. Straight or gay. I disagree and disaprove of the entire concept of marriage regardless. Anyone who disagrees with my opinion based upon "moral objections" and finds anything about marriage today to be moral should reconsider just how "moral" their virtues really are. If this is what the majority of the world considers to be moral then my offense is justified. Take your virtues, morals, and religious objections to the Vegas drive-thru chapel and shove them up your ***.

My personal oppinion is they are humans with real feelings like everyone else, although i dont agree totally with their choices.. its not my place to judge them.. i personally think if they want to get married by the state thats fine.. but i dont think it should ever be allowed in a church because well flat out the bible is against it.. but as far as a legal document of a commitment to each other i have no problem with that personally..

Sounds fine to me...equal rights for equal people. I am quite sure the divorce rate will equal that of straights. OR maybe close to the rate of straights...straights are setting some all time records over this "sacred rite." Seems not all "I do's " are equal, doesn't it?

Marriage between one man and one women is only natural. We accept others with open arms today, no matter who marries.

I see no non-religious reason to ban gay marriage, which I feel should be legalized. There is no evidence gay marriage is harmful to society.
