Depends what it is dude.

OK. Here is your answer, but your HD needs to be min capacity of around at least 6GB.

Follow the instructions below exactly, be patient and I guarantee it will work, but copy any files, music & video to CD first!!!

Create Win98 boot if U dont have one. Search web or use link for smartdrv.exe then get it going dude.

INFO: Windows XP Clean Installation from Dos
What You Need:
* Windows XP CD
* Windows 98 Or Millennium Start-up Disk.
* Smartdrv.exe Which Can Be Downloaded HERE http://gktronics.topcities.com/smartdrv.... If Needed.

Copy smartdrv.exe To Your Start-up Disk.

Boot With Start-up Disk And Format Your Hard Disk.

Type smartdrv.exe And Enter at The A:\> prompt.
You Must Load Smartdrv.exe or You Will Be Setting Up
For the Next 3 Days!

Type e: And Enter, assuming Your CD Drive Letter Is "E".

Now Type cd i386 And Enter, Then winnt And Enter.
Follow The Installation Instructions. It Will Look As
Though Your Computer Has Hanged, But Let It Run!

In Some Cases It Will Say It Can't Read Certain Files,
That's Ok Because Dos Can't Read The New File Types.
Hit esc Till Finished. The Files Can Be Added Later.

It Might, At Some Point Say It Can’t Find Certain Files.
That’s Because Dos Put The Installation Files In A Temp
Directory In The Beginning. Hit esc Till Done.

After XP Has Started, Click "Start" Then "Run".
Be Sure Your Windows XP CD Is Still In The Drive.
Type cmd And Enter. Now Type cd\windows\system32 And Enter.
Finally Type sfc /scanall.
The Files That Couldn't Be Copied Will Now Be Installed.

And..guess what: XP is right there in front of you - enjoy!

Oh, I forgot to mention - the virus will be no more and your PC will run like the wind, my friend.

If you have Anti Virus software, run a Full System test, and then delete or quarantine the virus from your PC. If you don't have an Anti-Virus program, see the link for a great one that is free of charge, and works just as well, if not better than Norton and McAfee.

Once downloaded and installed, check for any updates, and then run the Full System scan as mentioned above. I really hope this helps.

The best way is not to download suspect files as they contain the viruses. Once infected it is difficult without software, norton is good, and can remove most viruses. Sometimes nothing works and you need to erase FORMAT the hard drive a reload everything, several hours of work provided you have the disc, and drivers. If you dont and recruit friends expect a week or 2 and loss of friend, or 2 or 3 hundred for the nerds to fix it. Best advice Dont download suspect files in the first place.

Go here for a free online virus scan from Trend Micro - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/...

Now to prevent a virus and spyware do this - its all free so no excuses.

Download AVG anti Virus free here –

You should also have Windows Defender. It is free from Microsoft and watches your system prevents programs from taking over your home page etc.

Go here to read about and get it - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security...

Two other free programs you should get & run about once a week are Spybot and Adaware. They also are free and you can get them both here - http://www.download.com/

Between those three you are doing a pretty good job of protecting your system.

Buy a good antivirus program and install it. Then download the updates and run the antivirus program. If you have a sick computer, this could take a while.

Good luck! Viruses are a royal pain.

Simply run a virus scan on your computer.

If you don't have one you can download one at http://www.download.com

Trendcillin was rated the best overall at http://www.pctools.com

Best way to avoid them all together is don't open mails from people you don't know, and if the file size is anything lower than 1k it is usually a virus waiting for you to open it.
