I'm speaking personally here. How does G.W.B personally and specifically profit from the war in Iraq and high oil prices? I constantly hear phrases like "it's for the oil," "he and his oil buddies" "Bush profits from high oil prices" but, come one, spewing out some catch phrase does not make it so.

Will (can) someone please give me the specific and proven way George Bush personally profits from war and oil?

Not seeing a lot of concrete evidence here. Much of it claims that any stockholder of an oil company in support of the war is corrupt. Dubious claim at best. Would that also mean that owning stock in Phillip Morris makes you cause cancer. Not hardly.

OK... let's go through the accusations that have been levied here and elsewhere...
He owns oil companies-
McNope... He sold ALL ownership in oil companies before he even became President. And even if he did, ALL of his financial matters (stocks, companies, etc) were put into blind trust the minute he took office. He doesn't make dime one on ANYTHING until he gets out of office.

He owns shares in oil companies-
Well, I have shares in Mobile and Getty. Does that mean I would be interested in sending young men and women from MANY nations (get it through your head... we're not the only ones over there) into battle to line my pockets? McNope, McGenius. Then again, I also own shares of a few missile companies, and a few weapons companies... maybe that is reason for me to want people dead... so those companies can sell more weapons and make me richer. Do you see how absolutely assinine that sounds?

Contributions from oil companies-
OK.. so, Sen. Kerry, Sen. Biden, Sen. Clinton, et. al. (all of them Democrats) ALSO got contributions from the oil companies, yet two of the three of them are screaming for us to pull out of Iraq. Shouldn't they want us to stay there for the oil money? WHere does this even out?

The opposition is simply screaming at the rain because they refuse to get it. They need something to yell about to get the vote and the White House back in 2008.

GWB and his family are big stock holders in the oil companies that will be refining the Iraqi oil. They already own a big piece of the oil coming out of Saudi Arabia. That's how you profit. Just like Cheney who still holds a big part of Halberton. There are more ways to profit than you or I could think of.

He has friends in the oil industry who are able to charge higher gas prices through this war, and he gets part of that profit as a kickback.

You think this war is about truth, justice, freedom and whatever else Captain America would say? Give me a break. It's about trading soldiers' lives for cold hard cash.

I don't believe that the war in Iraq is about war, but I do believe that bush owns stock in some companies that benefit from middle eastern oil. Who cares, we all got to get paid right?

well... I don't have his personal accounts in front of me... but a man who has owned oil companies in the past and who's family made a lot of money off of oil... probably has some oil stocks... just a guess... which have went WAY up under his administration... much like Cheney's Halliburton stock...

but I'm sure that's all coincidence...

victory: that's true.. but is your family a political powerhouse that started out from oil finances? perhaps there is a difference...

He does not profit from oil stocks, well he does have some oil stocks, I'm sure many others do too.

But he'll profit from it after he retires as president. Right now, laws prevent him from many things, but when he's not the rpesident any more, I'm sure many an oil men will rush to contribute to his library fund, his memoirs, or anything of that sort. Its a rule in the politic-business world - I scratch your back (now), and you scrath my back (later).

Campaign contributions for starters. Oil money is pretty much put him in office. Would George W. Bush really be in office without oil money. Campaign contributions from oil companies fuel the republican party, they keep them in power.

There isn't really any proof, of HIM profiting but since America is running out of oil fields, and since the stupid moron nature loving tree hugging hippies won't let us into Alaska, we need the oil from the middle east to keep oil prices down (Ha!Ha!) .

Bush owns parts of some oil companies

To Victory

You don't own as much as he does, that I know for a fact.
