the people merely answering and sharing their knowledge could be classed as more intellectual as they have no questions they need answering -they already know it all!
so yeah i guess they could, but then again most people ask questions that don't really involve intellectualism such as how are you? and ever exposed yourself?

so it depends on the questions asked and questions answered, (especially if an answer is simply 'dont know' or something hatred)

well done on such an intellectual question, does that mean your not so smart for asking it?

I doubt it - if you sift through the mass of dross - which is so boring it makes me wonder why one does it anyway - you will find, that occasionally there is a sensible question - and even if you don't have an answer to submit - you will be inclined to look and see what answers are there - and if you are lucky - learn something - nothing to do with 'level of intelligence' in terms asking or answering sensible/meaningful questions - a case of the 'asker' persumably doesn't know the answer - and is hoping someone out there will - or perhaps, like yourself, is seeking to understand why we do this at all ???.

It's the other way round. People answer questions because they have the knowledge and therefore intelligent. People who ask questions are finding ways to be intelligent by getting answers.

even as some T/C's will, it truly is bigoted to assert that one and all T/C's attempt this. If i don't understand the answer to a question i will not answer it. There are not any larger degrees for me to get and the criteria quite do not propose that a lot to me now. My objective isn't be on the accurate of the chief board so for me it is the popular of the questions i answer no longer the quantity. some T/C's are regrettably obsessed on their position on the accurate customers factors list and they're going to and do answer any question revealed and likely many circumstances do no longer study the question requested completely. Being selective about what we answer and only answering what all of us understand receives us ideal solutions and that receives and keeps the T/C badge.

I really don't think it matters. There are a lot of lame questions as well as lame answers. I think that some people think that they are more intelligent by asking certain questions but then if they are the only person that gets their own joke then they miss the point.

No because they are the same people.
I see that you have 191 points so you must have answered a few questions, yourself.
This answer board has great potential because we have people from all walks of life and trades reading it.
Think of a knowledge base on that scale.
When you ask a reasonable question, the answers are mostly good and it's nice that others will try to help.

I think it's the other way around. People who ask questions a lot of times abuse the service just so they can sound off or get quick validation on meaningless topics.

People who answer, genuinely feel they have something to contribute (unless it is with a flip answer just to get the points).

Not at all. Some perhaps just feel more comfortable answering than asking. I myself have answered more than answering but that is because I only ask when something really comes to mind that in my own opinion is worth asking.
