No, they don't want to be back in Africa. There are no welfare checks, basketballs or KFC's in Africa. And since most Africans are poor, there's nothing to steal. They'd die of boredom.

Well, if my African ancestors were never brought here then I probably wouldn't even exist! First of all, I don't think that there is a black person in this country who doesn't have a little bit of white in them. I know that one of my great-great grandfathers was white and one of my great-great grandmothers was Native American. I'm sure that there were more whites and Indians somewhere down the line. I'm not light-skinned and I don't have long wavy hair. I look like your average Black-American. Even the blackest of us might have some white or Native American in us. Learn your history!

What makes you think that African's chase chickens through the brush? What would be so wrong with that if they did. Atleast they are getting some exercise! Us lazy Americans take our fat asses to the grocery store or to a restaurant! I wouldn't mind living in Africa, it is much more beautiful than the US.

I'm guessing that you've never been to Africa. Most African-American's ancestors were unfortunately ripped away from their families (horrific actually).
Many were already in the Americas. Africa consists of many different cultures & civilizations, Africans were among the first mathmeticians, engineers, & astronomers.
If you're sincerely interested do some research before asking such questions.

Assuming that you are an anglo, re you happy that your ancestors, formerly convicted criminals, were brought over as indentured servants and forced to work for their freedom? Are you proud that your ancestors wiped out whole tribes of people, already living here, and took their land? Are you, further, proud that your ancestors created and enacted the institution of American slavery? I'm quite proud that my ancestors survived the horrors inflicted upon them by your ancestors, and I'd rather be here watching you chasing your pride and dignity through the 'burbs.

I think, and I'm white so forgive me, that they would have preferred not to have been brought over as slaves, but as free people. I don't think that it matters now because it's happened and all we can do is blame any unfairness on our ancestors. No one is alive today that had any thing to do with blacks being brought over from Africa as slaves.

Of course no one wants their ancestors to be slaves! How crazy is that? And what would you know about the lives of people in Africa? Talk about ignorance and narrow mindedness!

Does anyone get a choice when it comes to their ancestory? I'm not black, but my ancestors came to Australia in chains. I don't care where I've ended up. Why bother thinking what could of happened and what should have happened. What's done is done, we should all just live in the future and make that as good as it can be.

If there are chickens in Africa do you thing they are fryers. It may just be a little too late for a return to Africa. I think most people were not allowed to take addresses with them.

I'm gonna skip the last childish part of your remark and hopefully help to educate you...now I'm white so if there are any African Americans that disagree with my answer...please do let me know because I'm all about learning what's right and wrong. I don't believe African American people are "happy" about what happened to their ancestors, I believe they are PROUD of the fact that their culture overcame and conquered such a hard start in life. Hell, I'd be proud too if I knew one of my ancestors helped to prolong my family tree by overcoming such hellish treatment.
