There are several different cultivated varieties of jalapeno peppers. Some grow only a couple of inches long while others grow considerably longer. Fortunately, the pepper can be harvested at any stage of development. If you want smaller peppers, just harvest them sooner. It is not uncommon to have unusually large peppers on well fertilized plants growing in rich soil in a near-perfect climate. It sounds like all is well in pepperland.

Might be that you have very good soil. Or they could be affected by some sort of radiation, making a mutant strain of you jalapenos. Go ahead and eat them, maybe you will get big too.
