If there were no flies, the guy who invented the flyswatter would be broke.
Infact, think about it, he wouldn't have even had a reason to invent a fly swatter.....so he could have not invented anything and then he would be broke and he would have to eat the stuff we throw out and then we would have to swat at him....then another guy would have made a man-swatter and HE would have became rich!
Thank God for the flies, that man owes his life to them!

Flies were once maggots. Disgusting, yes. But very helpful. Some hospitals in the United States actually use maggots to eat away dead flesh from injuries. Once the maggots eat the dead parts, the Doctors remove them. So, flies do help us, however I completely agree that they are very annoying!

Everything has a purpose. Flies eat things that are dead and decaying. And they're the main food source of some other animals.

Flies are ok...it's mosquitos that shouldn't exist. Believe me, I live in the land of 10,000 lakes and 10 trillion mosquitos.

They lay eggs and the maggots eat the decaying meat.
I saw a show where doctors used sterilized maggots to clean a patients wounds because they only eat dead flesh it helped to cure the patient.

actually, if you have the beginnings of gang green.....the larva will eat away the rotting parts of your body and leave all the healthy stuff alone. And then....they are also a food source for a lot of other animals and insects.
