How to shut off speaker phone on an LG VX3300?

A friend of mine has this phone and cannot figure out how to shut the speaker phone off. It apparently is on whenever they recieve or make a call. Anyone know how to shut off speaker phone?

They already read the literature and could not find the answer.

there is a circle button surrounding the ok button push up on this button and it should shut it off

Tell your friend to read the documentation that came with the phone.
