I can think of no reason, from an evolutionary biology perspective (or any other perspective for that matter), why women would care so much about shoes. Any ideas?

Have you not seen what the right pair of shoes does for our bodies?!?

They accentuate the calf muscles, throw the rear end back and the chest forward, and cause the abdomen to pull in and up! The only thing they don't do is widen the nostrils and the pupils.

Now, how would that help a female from an evolutionary biology perspective?

Besides, silly, shoes are so-o-o neat!

You're kidding, right? *HOWL* Yessssss... evolutionary biology are what Manolo Blahniks are all about! *GIGGLE* It's not about the shoes themselves... it's about what the shoes do for us... the color, the workmanship, the number of freaking hours we had to work to afford them! It's actually all in the way we strut when we wear them! And sorry guys but don't make the mistake of thinking we do it for you... that would be a waste. Show me a man who recognizes a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes and I'll show you a cross-dresser! We do it for ourselves and we are so worth it, so step off or be stepped on, professor!

Not all of us are obsessed with shoes. For example I only owned a pair of flip flops for about 1 1/2 years. My man finally forced me to get a pair of shoes. So see there is hope after all.

Shoes are an important accessory. The problem is, there are so many types of women's shoes. A certain pair of black pumps might work great with a suite, but sandals are really better to wear with a sundress.

In the past, since women were primary caretakers of children and received littlehelp from men in raising children, those who could best gather resources had children who survived longest. Thus, resource gathering has been bred into humans women for childcare, men for attracting mates.

Since in most parts of the world, there's little, if any, danger of starving, these impulses are largely acted out through conspicuous consumption (like guys with their entirely unnecesarily expensive cars) and hording (like shoes).

Because we like dressing up and finding the right shoes to complement our total look is something that just has to be done. Besides, we need to make sure that for the clothes we have, there's always a pair of shoes that match them. :)

Why do men care so much about cars and televised sporting events? I think these are questions the the opposite sex was never supposed to know the answers to.

Look at it like this, you have a nice car you cleaned it waxed it and the dam thing still look ugly, because you have ugly hubcaps.
Women that wear ugly shoes just turn me off, man they look so fine and you get a good look from head to toe and see ugly shoes, dam just messed up, ladies keep wearing pretty shoes.

Because men do. Just know women do what they think will attract men. I say this because I see no reason for a woman to wear 3 inch spiked heels. It can not be comfortable nor can it be healthily for her feet so ask yourself.. why then??

They don't want the shoes. They want the boxes so they have a place to save everything a guy ever gives them...to use as evidence against us!
