and I was wondering if anybody knew whether prestigious colleges like NYU and Yale or any in that realm, would accept those credits. I mean I would be taking challenging courses such as sociology or some sort of English Lit/Creative writing and government/philosophy? I need to know because I am in need of some "promonent" impressive credits to help my overall GPA.

Usually universities will accept transfer credits, but if they are coming from out of state or online classes, they may not. The best way to find out is to call or email someone in the admissions offices of the colleges/universities you are interested in transferring credit to. Tell them what courses you are taking and where you are taking the course and they will be able to tell you if they will transfer. Oh, and for online classes, pay extra attention to deadlines because it is easy to get behind in a class that has a flexible schedule/structure. Good luck!

Hate to break it to you but those aren't challenging courses. Take classes that will transfer to where you want to go and that are in your field of study. Talk to an admissions counselor, look at transfer guides, and plan it out.
