For me it's when people say a 600 sportbike is an ok bike to learn on. I hear that all the time and it makes me shudder.

"You don't have to "scrub in" new tires, they are fine to lean the bike over hard when they are brand new"

Worked in a bike shop for 10 yrs, can't tell you how many bikes got dumped with in a couple blocks of the shop after getting new tires. These bones heads hear it a dozen times from staff members, to take it easy, but it goes in one ear and out the other.

I hate when you hear "the faster the better' or when I see people riding without a jacket and helmet...i understand if they only have a helmet but to not wear one? That's crazy...I dropped a bike my 1st time on the street and thank God for my jacket and helmet and my motorcycle safety course :)

I agree with you about the 600 to learn on. Learn how to land in the ditch while navigating a corner!! LOL

I agree with you completely. These jokers don't know sh!t about motorcycles but tell people to learn on their fantasy bike.

My kid has an R6 and the darn thing's a rocket. Its not the bike he learned on, either.

That riding without a helmet is "the way it should be"... There is no motorcycle helmet law in FL - with the drivers here, it is practically a death wish.

Go to a safty course, They teach you on a 250cc. they are great for pratice, and the bike is lite enough that you can throw it aroud (useing your body weight) to learn how to keep control.

"Buy a big bike to start off on. It's better to learn on a REAL bike."
