9-Year-Old Girl Gives Birth in Brazil

A 9-year-old gave birth to a baby girl in the Amazon jungle after undergoing a Caesarean section earlier this week, authorities announced.
It is suspected that the pregnancy may have been the result of rape. An investigation has been launched.
The girl was found in the jungle in April by laborers working on a natural gas pipeline from the Coari oil fields to Manaus, a city of 1.5 million people 1,800 miles northwest of Rio de Janeiro, a spokesman for the local healthcare administration said.
She was taken to Manaus, the capital of the Amazon state, and went into labor on Thursday.
The baby, weighing 2.2 kilograms, is said to be in good health.
The mother, of the Apurina tribe, has refused to speak, and the identity of the infant's father was unknown.

The same thing as when people wondered the same when Jack the Ripper began killing. There are sick people in this world that do things to others, especially to defenseless children, sad fact of it. All that we can do is be the best people we can, raise our children the best we can, and hope that we can put enough good back into the world to make it decent for future generations.

My God. We dont live in a perfect world but I would never think it was that bad. She is so young I hope she survived labor.
