Americans are a freedom-loving people who believe everyone should be given the opportunity to succeed, but that actually succeeding is up to that person.
We're normally pretty easy-going but, since 9/11, we're a little sensitive about people wanting to kill us and about rogue nations wielding nuclear weapons.
But we're also the only country in the world that welcomes all and has built our greatness on the success of immigrants.
We work hard and play hard, so sometimes we get caught up in our own lives and forget to pay attention to others in the world.
