What's a good topic for a persuasive policy speech?

I was thinking of doing the aerial wolf hunts in Alaska or canned hunting in general. It needs to have at least seven sources. I did Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for my pro/con speech. Any other ideas? I'm kind of an environmentalist, who's studying to be a geologist.

Why not broaden your persuasive speech to protecting new species? For example on worldwide nature and animal conservation. Your policy statement could be: New species make conservation more important.

If you do hunting ethics, google bear baiting, Kenai Clarion, grizzly. Last month, two guys were laying out stale donuts (really!) to attract black bears (legal for that) but a grizzly came instead. Record size, 19 years old, about 800 pounds.

Should hunters be able to shoot wolves from planes, fly and shoot on the same day, or bait bears (the easiest way to get a black bear). All of those are big questions up here.

The punch line - the win-win idea, I think, is that the more "fair chase" is involved the better the non-hunting public thinks of hunting and the longer they get to do it. In most states, hunters themselves are a small minority, so they should, in their own interest, appeal to the majority's sense of proper behavior.

Alaska? Why not just talk about quarks. People are just about as knowledgeable about quarks as they are Alaska. WHO CARES ABOUT ALASKA, except those who want to rape their natural resources. STAY AWAY FROM ALASKA.
