It depends. Did you two live together before marriage? My husband and I were together and everything for 3 years before we decided to get married. The first year living together was a little hard because we didnt know what we both liked and disliked but everything fell into place. I'd say the hardest year or years in marriages are ones that have the most changes like a move or new baby, new job, just anything new and different. When we moved to a different state that was difficult because we didnt know anyone or anything still getting situated. When we had our son that was hard because we couldnt keep the mother in law away! I hope this helped!

Statistically, the second year and the seventh are the hardest. The first year is still "honeymoon". The end of the second year will be much harder than today. The seventh year is "reflection". Things have become established, the emotional and financial pressure of kids is now an issue, etc. If this is "as good as it gets", and it's not good enough, there's a risk. The final phase is the mid-life crisis, somewhere in his mid-late 30's to late 40's.

I think a lot has to do with how long you are together before marriage. I think it is early the second year. That is when couples let down their gaurd. True colors shine thru. I think it is the period where the honeymoon is not quite over... but gotten old! Reality sets in.

it's the first five years of marriage is hard. because you are both still learning each others need, and likes and dislikes, finding out if marriage works for you. if you get throw the first five you both have it made, there's a lot of roads to go. lots of marriages are different, and people are different. good luck and best wishes.

I found the 2nd year really hard as all the novelty of being newly married wore off by then and all of a sudden I was with men that just saw me as a replacement mother/house-maid.

The worst year is, with no doubt, year 1....no, year 2...no, no....year 3....oops, did it again...year 4...no, that's not right...year 5. Oh, but year 6 really sucks..then there is year 7...damned awful year. Year 8 was dreadful, and year 9 didn't ease off one bit. Year 10 was something to write home about...as in, "Can I come back home?"..And just when I thought it couldn't get worse, year 11 came along, and...............................
