German is extremely clean compared to France, the UK or the US. Littering is considered a serious social sin and you will be called to task for dropping trash on the streets, even tossing a cigarette butt out the window of a car. Germans are also very protective of their peace and quiet; it is considered extremely bad form to play your stereo or TV loud enough to be heard outside your home or car.

Driving in Germany can be a challenge, in part to the very high speeds on the largely speed-limit free Autobahns as well as to very high traffic congestion in most parts of the country.
