Every time somebody brings up an issue about the Bush administration being corrupt or having something to do with 9/11 all you people who try to flood the world with democracy and understainding tell me to either put up or shut up. That's being distinctly fashist, I'm simply expressing my opinion which is based on fact whereas you're defense is based on heresay and what the gov't says, accepting it without a shread of real evidence you decide to call me unpatriotic.
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to greater danger. It works the same in any country."
-Hermann Goering (1893 - 1946)
Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe, President of the Reichstag, Prime Minister of Prussia and Hitler's designated successor
The second in command of the Third Reich.

I'm not opposed to democrats or republicans as I am affiliated with neither, I'm for america and people need to be more critical of gov't actions to keep it in line. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely

Yep, theirs is a common response (i.e. "just leave"). I think what they're trying to do is show you that we have it better here in the U.S.A. than they have it in other countries. What they overlook is that part of what makes America great is dissent. This arose out of the French Enlightenment in the eighteenth century. As a Bush-backer (generally) I'm sorry if their response hurts your feelings. Hopefully you'll see their point, they'll see yours, and we'll all be better for it.

While I don't believe that the government was responsible for 9/11 (I'm certainly not a fan of Bush though), I do agree that people who have had skeptical and/or dissenting opinions have been greatly and unfairly villainized in this country. I sympathize with your point of view and your frustration. It is a lynch-mob mentality that is unfortunately a part of human nature and is a problem that will never resolve itself. Just be proud of yourself that you have the balls to stand up and voice what you believe because there are many, many many people who have the same views who don't have the guts to voice them. And the fact that they are trying to suppress you should actually come as a compliment to you because it means that you are "causing waves" and saying something important and meaningful (whereas if it wasn't important, you'd be ignored and shrugged off). I wish you the best, love!

I'm actually a liberal/libertarian, so this is not coming out of some kind of political motivation (as I agree with statements that the Bush administration has shown much corruption), but I think it's because you are actually trying to press a political agenda rather than as a politics-related question. Questions without an agenda looking for honest answers would probably be the best course to take...either that or leaving as suggested.

That's the republican strategy... to get you on the defensive and never really address your questions, concerns or the facts.
BUT, ppl are waking up to this FINALLY!!
I've become an expert at not falling into the 'defensive' trap. If you do find yourself caught up in their bologna just come back at them with language they understand, like "geez another repig moron bites the dust'. LOL It's funny but that's they way they communicate and they have nothing else to say afterwards.
Basically the best thing to do is keep quoting facts and that shuts them up. They really have lost all their moral high ground when it comes to politics and have regressed into the primal state.
Oh yeah as far as the 'just leave America if you don't like it' approach. I always find that one really funny and shut them up with reality.. by just saying, "Honey if you want to live in a dictatorship then you move. If you want me to move, MAKE ME?" Works everytime.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, especially in politics. But perhaps a blog would be a better setting for expressing opinions, whereas this would be a better setting for asking political questions.

They only know the talking points. Ask them about a real issue with out using hate, fear, and personal attacks, and watch them run. Ask them about our children's future and see how much these Real Americans really care.
