Topher Grace will be playing Eddie Brock, though sources say that he may also make an appearance as Spider-Man's fearsome villain and arch-rival, Venom. Several images of him wielding a camera and his brief appearance in the teaser trailer also support this. This is furthered by the fact that several interviews with cast members have confirmed the presence of Venom in the film; however, whether or not this refers to Brock's alternate identity, or simply to the symbiote costume with which he merges is unclear (referring to the symbiote itself as "Venom" is a common mistake), leading to speculation over whether or not Brock will actually become Venom in this film.

Venom and Sand Man will both be in Spiderman 3.

The black suit IS venom. Venom was Spiderman until Brock got the suit. The whole movie is about venom/spiderman.

I doubt it. He has a black suit because that is the SYMBIOT. It will become VENOM but proably not until the next movie or later in the series. Remember it was someone else taking the suit when it became venom. To the one who thinks venom will be in it because of the black suit, you need to understand the story better. Try reading the series again. They will proably use Venom later and if the series lasts long enough they will bring Carnage in. This one though it will be Sandman and the Symbiot.

Yeah. The trailer has the "Black Costume" which, as you probably know, is the alien entity that consumes the geek Eddie Brock who becomes "Venom."
Too bad about Sandman, though ... never one of the better Spiderman villains.
Why couldn't they have used Scorpion, or Electro, or the Vulture, or the Shocker, or Kingpin, or Goblin Jr., or the Crocodile, or or or or ...?
Anybody but that damn Sandy ... way way too "magic" if you ask me, since Spiderman had at least a nod towards scientific plausibility, if a fleeting nod.

That's supposed to be the whole thing about Spiderman having a black suit. But yes Venom will be in it.

Eddie Brock will probably recieve the suit at the end of the movie and will become the main villian in spiderman 4. So the main villian in this movie will probably be the green goblin.

venom is the combination of the Topher Grace charactor, Eddie Brock, and the black ooze that was crawling up spidermans suit in the preview.
