He will mainly need it for music, pictures, videos and internet.It should have wi-fi, bluetooth and maybe infared.It should have lots of memory for storing all this.It should not have a phone, just a normal pda. The battery should last aleast 3 hours. Any price will do as long it looks good.

Look into the Palm Zire 72. We got one for my son. Has all the regular PDA functions, plus camera, video and voice recording capability, can play mp3s, has bluetooth & IR. I think you can get a wi-fi card for it separately. I haven't had much luck surfing the Internet from it (via bluetooth) - it's frustrating. But it's really fun to record videos with it, and you can get so many great free apps for Palms, like Pocket Chess.
