Well, many Jewish people only date Jews and marry Jews because they want to make sure the future generations will be Jewish in blood and in religion. There are Jews who date and marry non-Jews, but most of them aren't very religious. If your family is religious or values tradition they will probably want you to date and marry a Jewish person. It's not wrong for you to date other people, and if you want to then you should.

A lot of jews would prefer that. It is your life and your choice but as you can tell your family has preferences about who you should date. But they are not in charge of your dating life. Many jews actually prefer to date other jews. But if you don't want to limit yourself you don't have to.

It depends on how strict they are in their religion. Some will say yes -- but then younger Jews are more open-minded in that area. Whatever makes a person happy.

Yes, we are. religion is a family thing -- if a family is divided, the connection to religion is lost, regardless of good intentions. You may say "I'm only dating, not getting married" but it is a substantial slippery slope -- you can't control emotions, and by starting to date non-jews, you desensitize yourself to the needs and demands of your heritage.

All Jews are supposed to date whom ever they please as long as they are making their mothers happy...! ;- )
actually, i thought it depends on if you are reformed, conservative, American, Iseriali, or newer thought; it might also depend on if you are young and want kids, or if you are older and have kids and this is a second marriage/romance for you....
