It's alright for people to say "don't take him back" but you have immediate financial problems.
Take him back but don't tell him that it is only temporary. Then start saving hard and come up with a long term plan for you own future. Maybe retraining for a better job or whatever. Just keep the secret nest-egg a total secret at all costs.

You are the only one who can make that decision but be careful if this is something he's been doing for a long time he needs help but you have to be tough with him if you take him back he will think no matter what you will always take him back therefore he will just keep doing it and every time you will give it another excuse why your taking him back I no it's really hard if you love someone but it can bring your self esteem way down I lived with someone for 8 years who had a drink problem yeah each time he went on a binge I took him back and of course he would never do it again and things would be ok for a few weeks sometimes a few months but that was the longest he's now on his own still drinking and is a mess but I have a lot less stress
You can do it it's hard whether you get a job or go on benefits but make sure whatever you do you get support so you can talk it through remember that you can't change his behaviour he's the only one who can and you can't save him or make it better once again he's the only one
you deserve to be happy! good-luck

DON'T DO TAKE HIM BACK, trust me on this...YOU ARE BETTER THAN THAT~ Eventually you will get mad cuz he treats you like crap, you will want to discuss it and he says ....something that pisses you off...then you will hate yourself for giving in and hating him for being the himself.
There are many services that can help you pay the bills. Or cut back on your expenses; get a roommate, live with a friend. Until you get back on your feet.
You never know he could become verbally abusive which is a kind of battering which doesn't leave evidence comparable to the bruises of physical battering. It often leads to physical domestic violence. Sometimes the behavior is NEVER corrected. Especially if he feels that he is doing nothing wrong. Keep this in mind when you are considering your decision.
Take good care of yourself...

Honey, for 21 years I put up with the drinking. It started out as weekend benders, then progressed to every night. Oh the bills were paid, but the real price was, and is, very hard to bear. At the end I had to leave because I became almost crazy enough to think about killing him.
My family is completely f****d up and I have no kind of relationship with my children, who had to grow up with a drunk and a crazy mother. At the moment I'm going through hell because I apparently messed up and ruined a family wedding and upset my kids.
The fallout can be devastating, even years later.
Please don't take him back, your life could be ruined.

Your husband sounds as if he has an alcohol problem, things will never change unless he wakes up to himself. The drinking is probably the reason the bills can't be paid, taking him back would only make the debts grow. Try to cope without him, you'll learn to enjoy life again, I'm sure it will be much better without a drunk as a husband !

Heck no! If the only reason you would be taking him back is b/c you can't pay the bills then get a roomate. Unless you are still in love with him and want to be with him for other reasons, I wouldn't advise taking him back.
Good luck!

I feel for you. My daughter and grandaughter who is 8 is living with her friend and her friends husband and their kids. Her friends husband drinks really bad, and has beat my daughter several times. I have tried to help them out as they live 30 miles out of town and with the price of gas it costs to much for both of them to get a job.I have helped them for the last time, that may sound bad, but I took all of them in again because of his drinking and all and this was just 3 weeks ago. My daughter, her friend, her 3 kids and my granddaughter. I am on a fixed income and they ate almost everything I had borrowed money that I will never see again ect. They went back to him again. I told them if they did they were on their own. Honey, you can do this, does he ever hit you ect?You can get help from agencys that deal with this sort of problems that women have with their husbands. Go to a nearby cchurch talk with the pastor, about getting help with you living expenses ect. If you don't have a job then get one. Try McDonalds delievering newspapers pays really good. The best advice i can give you is Pray.Believe.Do. Pray to thed Master to help you believe that he will answer your prayers and above all God helps those that help theirselves. You are in my prayers, and the best of Luck to you. Remember PRAY.Jesus says "Fear not for I am with you, and will never leave you" I know from my past and now my present that he has never left me, he gives us choices.Right or wrong, I am making the right choices and he blesses me every day. God Bless You.....

I think there are ways, and things that can help you out. Look in your community. There are groups that help if you have kids, there are domestic violence groups (if he gets that way while drinking) You can always file bankrupcy.
If you do take him back, look into AA groups, Draw a line, and keep it there.
I booted a violent x husband after 13 years, with 3 kids and little $, we got thru with the grace of god, and others.
you deserve to be happy... so be happy!

i would find a way to pay the bills myself regardless of what it took before i gave up my happiness to live with a drunk. so i'd have to say no. i'm sure you told him how unhappy it made you before you threw him out, it didn't matter enough to him to change it. how can he care about you but not how you feel? if you have to take him back to pay the bills do it, but remember it won't change, and will probably get worse because you let him come back so now he'll think aha i got her she can't do without me no matter what i do to her, while he's there i'd start hustling and find a way to pay the bills myself THEN throw him out
