If a baby hasn't had a bowel movement in three days, it's constipation and you need to see or at least speak to the doctor. The doctor has remedies that can help. The baby really needs that help from the doctor.

It is not abnormal for an infant to go a few days with having a bowel movement. When my daughter was 4 months old she went 5 days without going, and I was so worried because she had always been so regular. My doctor told me to wait a couple more days, and she went on the 5th day. Wait a few more days then call your doctor if she still hasn't gone.

Add a little more water to the formula and less formula for instance instead of 2 scoops and four ounces of water, try one scoop and four ounces. This will probably help out, worked for me then just be patient until she/he makes a bowel movement.

If youre really worried call your pediatrician during regular office hours, this happens alot to babies.

If your baby is fully breastfed and hasn't had a bowel movement in 3 days, this is *rarely* constipation. As long as when she/he does go, it's huge and soft, it is *normal*. Treating it won't help her/him in any way and can harm her/him. See sources section below.

My daughter's pediatrician told me that its normal for a baby to go up to 7 days without a bowel movement. He told me anything over that to put a teaspoon of dark brown sugar in 4 ou. of formula, it always worked for her.

I agree with cribbich2006. At our doctor's suggestion we added a little prune juice to our baby's formula.

contact your babies doctor to let them know. its normal for infants to go through multiple diapers in a day. nit three days. it could be the formula or something, but get ahold of them as they will want to know the feeding times and what given.

Have a little talk with your doctor about it, or give the kid some apple juice.
