Yes, and I celebrate for half the day, with half the cake, and inviting half the guests.

Actually if you were born on Jan 1, your half-birthday would be July 1, not June 1.
I celebrated my 1/2 birthday once I think... 10 1/2.

No! perhaps it really is a project at the same time with her. I advise that is large that your newborn has grown and discovered six month's properly worth of stuff, excellent? even if the toddler received't keep in recommendations it, and inspite of in case you probably did celebrate, in basic terms make it between you & whoever is particular to you. the first birthday is difficult sufficient once you've a celebration! The one million-3 hundred and sixty 5 days-previous received't keep in recommendations, yet you are able to have the photographs! do not let her bully you into something you do not favor to do. you've sufficient to do with a 6-month-previous on your fingers! i am hoping each thing seems properly for you and your kin. Take a lot of images. i'm particular you're sorting out, that first 3 hundred and sixty 5 days is going by skill of so quick!

The "half" birthday thing is slightly odd. Does this mean that they ask for gifts and have a party? Must be attention getters. I don't think that is something I want to do, maybe when I was younger but with 30 looming, not really something I would do.

I actually celebrate my half birthday. It's cool knowing that i am not the only one the does. It is fun having 2 birthdays cause it is twice the gifts and the cake.

my first hubby started this for my kids because their birthdays are just right around xmas and tended to get overshadowed by xmas. since school was always on vacation for the birthdays it was hard to have birthday parties. everyone was busy with xmas. so that's why he did it and i don't think it was dumb at all. there were practical reasons why it made sense to give the kids a special day that wasn't next door to xmas.

No.. I think it's a little dumb. Unless people are obsessed w/ their kids or something or if their kid is expected to have a shorter life then I guess it makes sense, but otherwise it's stupid. I had rich spoiled friends when I was younger who did that and it was only b/c they were brats. When your older it's a reason to have a party and drink.

I don't think it is dumb if they can get away with people giving them presents and stuff, however, at my age, 50, I don't want to remember my whole birthdays. Why care what others think anyway, if you think it is dumb then who cares, if you don't then care.

Yep, really dumb. That's only twice a year. I only celebrate my unbirthdays. I completely agree with the March Hare on this.
