What do you know about 29 Palms?

Real big Marine air-ground combat base. (they call it 29 stumps)
real hot (well over a hundred right now, usually less than 120)
not real far from Joshua Tree national park (real nice rock climbing, desert bighorn sheep, etc.)
Nice place for dinner/stay: 29 palms inn/Oasis of Mara
Not a lot going on down town, Basically two strips in a "T" shape, one along the 29 palms highway, the other on the road leading to the base. If you are a marine, of course, you can shop the Px on base, they have gyms and theaters and everything.
Next shopping opportunity, Yucca valley, they have a Wal-mart, about 30 miles West of 29 palms. Good shopping in the palm Springs-Desert hot springs area, another 30 miles down the hill, everything available down there, malls, costo, etc.
On the other side, long, hot trip to the river, Lake Havasu, Needles, etc, if you need to get away for the weekend.
WInter is mild, but it can get close to freezing, and once snowed as near as del valle hill.
That's about all I can think of, give me a holler if you think of something specific you'd like to know.

It's in the high desert in Southern California. It's hot, the nearest wal-mart is 28 miles away, the base housing is okay, they just built a new commissary, it's home to the largest (land-wise) Marine Corps base in the world, and not much else. The naval hospital there is okay, but the closest hospital otherwise is in Joshua Tree. The school district pays well, and the landscape is beautiful and austere. Any questions, just ask. :)

This Psalm just describes the greatness and might of God.
It was written by King David, and if anyone understood the greatness and might of God it would be him.

I think that it is telling us that the Lord is mighty, and that we need him in our lives daily. also that he is telling us to worship him, and that he will give us the strength to make it in this world. we cannot do anything without him.
