You cannot support one and not the other it doesnt work like that. IF you support our troops, which I proudly do, then you must also support their commander and chief, you can't sit on both sides of the fence. So why?

Miss M, If they are are only joining to get a college education then they are foolish it is the MILITARY!!!!! They are not there only to supply college educations they are there to protect our country and those that cannot protect themselves. IF thats all they want then they can go and get student loans like the rest of us!.

Like I said before, if you do not support the commander and chief than you cannot support our troops! I am sorry you can say you do but your just lying, the troops may only be doing as they are told but they are still doing it. I am sorry but you cant have it both ways.

A few reasons: People do not even kow the President is the Commander in Chief. People lie about their "support out troops", when they really don't. People normally support our troops and military, but hate Bush.

Now be prepared for long winded excuses form these folks, which ultimatley end up : Bush is a fascist, Bush is a killer, Bush is....

You get the drift.

I support both Bush and the troops, but I can easily see how someone could only support the troops. People can hate Bush all they want, but still wish the best for the troops in their mission. The fact that Saddam pulled us into the war doesn't take away from the fact that we are there. We all need to support the troops and hope they complete their mission so as they can return home, but at the same time we don't all need to support Bush's willingness to back up the U.N.'s inability to act on their own resolutions.

That's easy, see here it goes, I support the troops, but the commander in chief is a lying, criminal, scumbag. Not a problem with me to do that either. The troops are only doing what they are suppose to do but the guy that sent them went above and beyond the call to be the biggest asshole in the world.

I support our troops in that they are protecting us and doing what they are commanded to do. However, I do not support Bush in his utilization of the troops. Its not the troops fault, so why should I not support those men and women who are fulfilling their duty as soldiers and following orders. If they didn't, they would be prosecuted, stripped of their monies, kicked to the curb not being able to support their families. Military service isn't something you can just get out of, like a normal job. If you don't like what your boss is doing, you can leave, no problems, just quit. You CANNOT quit the military. So, support the troops, and keep hounding the president until he changes his ways and utilizes those dedicated soldiers to make actual lasting changes for good instead of changes that spaw civil war, corporatism, cronyism, dissatisfaction, confusion and increased terroist loyalism. Whoa, better stop now before I really go off. So, anyways, that's how... cheers!

Because I would like to believe that you don't support the war but still support the commander in chief. If you support the war I wonder how you ever get a good sleep.

Because the CIC is an elected official who doesn't sit on the front lines, drive by IED's or gets shot at.

You support the troops because they are doing their duty, putting their lives on the line (by choice -- there is no draft afterall).

You don't necesarily support the CIC or any other commander who recklessly puts his/her troops in danger.

Troops follow orders - Generals on down.
The CIC gives the orders-- if they're flawed, you question them. Soldiers don't-- they go where they're told

What do YOU consider supporting the troops?
To me its: Getting them the right equipment and resources
Not putting them in harm's way when we don't need to
That we commit military might in overwelming force and after we win, we have a plan to limit insurgency and social unrest
We pull out as soon as we can

Pull your head out of your anus

You say it doesn't work that way, but to many people there is just no comparison between an 18-year-old kid who joined the Army in order to get a college education and had no say about the war or being assigned to duty in a war zone an elected official (well, even the "elected" part is questionable) who engineered this war. I pity former and despise the latter.

The troops are doing their best. Bush invaded Iraq with no plan for the post-war administration of Iraq and now we are stuck there trying to impose a military dictatorship.
