audio output device is the sound card itself
maybe ur sound crad have moved from it's place or ur speakers is not pluged
or try to update ur sound card driver from the manufacturer web site

You need a sound card to play sound, yours just probably broke. You can only download audio software, like drivers, which runs in conjunction with the sound card.

you mean you need to download a device driver? if oyu don't have a sound card then don't waste your time unless you have onboard sound then go to your mobo's web site and download audio drivers from there

if its a compaq , dell or E machine find out the model number ,write it down and goto there web site and download the sound drivers...
