I'm 22 and in good health and I was told that the cyst was normal and nothing to worry about but I recently rec'd a positive on an in-office urine test and was wondering if the cyst could make that happen. also my hcg level was at 2 at the time.

I don't think so. Cysts don't put out the hormone that is used to cause a positive. Since you were in the office, why didn't you ask them then? Is it possible you are pregnant?

Was the cyst on your ovaries or in your uterus? An ovarian cyst is definitely not going to put out the HCG.

I'd call your docs office and ask.

Some kinds of cancers can do that..I have PCOS and have a problem with cysts and I'm preg with my second child. I've had the sono to prove it. I don't think cysts influence hcg at all..unless it's a tumor and not a cyst. Not to worry you..Good luck!

No. A cyst doesn't secrete hCg hormone. Congrats! You're pregnant!

As far as I know, no it's not possible. If you tested positive it means you are pregnant. But I am not totally one hundred percent sure of that. What did your doctor say?
