Because we have evolved to rely on food being cooked, or we could get really really sick.
Our ancestors (as in cavemen) were able to eat raw meat and all that, but once we discovered fire, cavemen liked their food warmer (probably to keep themselves warm on cold nights). Little did they know that cooking food kills bacteria and disease, so the enzymes we once had to digest uncooked food were no longer needed. Thus, the human race more or less became a bunch of wussies and now we can no longer eat uncooked meat without the chance of getting really sick because we do not have the same digestive abilities we used to have.

At one time I'm sure we humans ate what we found much like other omnivores. At some time in our evolution someone found that cooking food tasted better and a side to that was it made some foods safer to eat. Today, some of us still like raw foods such as sushi and steak tartar.

We don't need to cook our own food. Someone else cooks for me almost every day.

Uh, why are you asking this question? Should everything just be plucked out of the wild already cooked? This is earth, man. Not a Burger King.
EDIT: Oh, I get what your asking. Other animals can just eat other animals raw while we can't.
Ok, well, I have no idea why. lol.

Neanderthol [sic] humans used to eat raw meat and vegetables, and due to that, their organs were adapted to the raw food. Now, since we have grown to rely on cooked meat, any raw meat disagrees with our bodies, thus making us sick, unlike other carnivorous animals alive today. as for vegetables, they are simply cooked for flavour as raw vegetables are edible, just not as pleasant tasting. this also partly applies to meat. it's all about the flavour for us since we have developed our sense of taste.

1. our stomachs can't digest most raw meat and most raw vegetables
2. our teeth are not strong enough to chew hard raw food.
3. But we can't live by eating fruits and sashimi (raw fish) and sushi all the time.

I actually trained a monkey to cook for me. It's pretty adorable but tastes like crap.
Good Luck!
