If Jesus and Budda got into a fight...Who would win ? ?

Well, we know that jesus had warlike intent (matthew 10;22) and his dad was the hebrew god of war (yahweh) but all he ever did besides breaking bread was tip over some tables in a temple. And the whip thing, of course. all of his miricles were pretty wimpy, such as turning water into wine, and healing people. Obviously, he didn't have any good smiting miracles up his sleeves. Must have been a disapointment to his dad.
Budda (in later days) probably had a good hundred pounds on Jesus, and is often depicted carrying a big stick. Still, his weight might count against him, as sumo wrestlers have discovered when entering the K-1 fighting circuit. (witness grand champion Akebono, winless in actual bloodsport.)
Also, consider that Buddah was a prince who had it all and walked away from it. This indicates an unhealthy level of self-abnegation, it may be that he would just let Jesus beat him up, and not do anything about it.
The real winner would be Don King, assuming he could set it up.

I'll answer the question without all the "but they're both to good to fight" stuff that wasn't part of the question. If we assume no supernatural aspects to the fight, the simple answer is this: Jesus was an untrained (militarily) carpenter, and Siddhartha Gautama was raised a kshatriya (warrior), so Buddha would win easily.

Well, Buddha would fight, he would is too passive. Jesus would not either unless Buddha did something intolerable such as Try to sell little Buddha's in church. Last time something like that happened, seem Jesus got pretty miffed. So with Buddha not fighting and Jesus miffed; I'd say Jesus would take the win.

First of all, the depiction of buddha you are using is very specific- the "fat, happy" buddha is just one image- the Buddha Maitreya, or laughing buddha. The historical depiction of Buddha, Prince Siddhartha, is shown much differently, and much slimmer.

I don't think Buddha or Jesus would fight; it goes against both of their messages. They would most likely engage in many discussions and indeed feel compassion for humanity which has twisted religion out of context and control!

Neither one would start it up!

But you're saying they did get into a fight, so it would be a match with a fisherman/carpenter on one side, and a royal ancient Asian on the other. I think maybe Buddha would have the edge.
